SRITHAIMAI GROUP's history

Srithaimai Rice Mill Company Limited has been established since 1954 in the northeast of Thailand, in Banphue District of Udon Thani Province. Located in the area of famous and abundant supply of Thai Glutinous Rice, Srithaimai Rice Mill started with annual capacity of 30,000 metric tones aiming to support local supply for domestic consumption.

As demand for glutinous rice had grown to other parts of the country, in 1970, Srithaimai Rice Mill had decided to expand its core business by investing in three different business types; Transportation, Construction and Petrol businesses mainly to transport rice and construction materials. These investment decisions had been a major accomplishment in Srithaimai history; the businesses were amazingly and logistically supported each other. Rice production, construction, transportation, and petrol business have become Srithaimai’s core businesses since then and became known as SRITHAIMAI GROUP.

In 1993, Srithaimai Group had acquired a rice mill in
Nongbualamphu Province with annual capacity of 40,000 metric tones in order to serve the growing market for glutinous rice and jasmine rice. With the unique quality of paddy, our local brand “Flying Wheel” had become well known as “tender and fragrant” rice of the northeast and has now been marketed throughout the country.

This success story has rooted from the company core values, “To provide excellence toward contribution to the society, improving standard of living of the stakeholders and the locals, and eventually raising household income of the farmers.” Nongbualamphu is known as the poorest province with the lowest per capita income. Concerning this fact, Srithaimai Group had made another big investment decision in a new rice processing facility in 2004, so called Srithaimai Rice Company Limited with annual capacity of 150,000 metric tones, aiming for quality improvement and job creation. Srithaimai Rice is fully equipped with new production technology that facilitating a significant quality improvement for domestic market and exports. Not only that, Srithaimai Rice has hired more than 100 employees from the local and has been in good relationship with the local farmers than ever.

Over 50 years in rice business, it has been our pride for our contribution to customers as well as to the society. We have made our commitment in developing and improving our people as well as our production standards to serve the markets for quality rice.
